AquaZoom’s hydropower technology enables on the one hand, as fish migration pathways, fish to move up- and downstream, while on the other hand, they are revenue-generating power plants that produce electricity at a very favorable cost. AquaZoom vortex power plants make complying with the EU Water Framework Directive easy.

MINIMAL HEAD OF ONLY 1m
The AquaZoom Vortex Energy Plant technology requires a head (vertical drop between in- and outlet) of only 1-2m. This makes our product feasible for locations where no other run-of-river hydropower technology can be economically applied.

IDEAL WATER FLOW OF 1'000 l/s
The patented AquaZoom hydropower technology requires an ideal water flow of 1 m3/s [1000 l/s]. Each AquaZoom Vortex Energy Plant is capable of supplying the annual renewable electricity requirement for 60 – 100 families in developing nations.

UP TO 100 YEARS
The Instute for Integrated Economic Research confirms that the energy invested into the AquaZoom Vortex Energy Plant and its operations is returned more than 20 times over a conservatively assumed lifetime of 30 years with 50% utilization, and outperformes any other energy technology currently available. This further improves with an expected lifetime of 50 to 100 years.

LOW MAINTENANCE
The AquaZoom products currently offer one of the most efficient renewable energy sources in the market, except for large-scale hydropower dams. Our larger installations can produce a kWh at below 2 cents (€/US$) for 50-100 years with very limited maintenance.

SIMPLE DESIGN
The design of all installations follows the same blueprint, with as many components as possible prefabricated to reduce cost, installation errors and complexity, and speed up local installations in difficult-to-access locations.
